RAWALPINDI: The ‘Azadi Train’ will begin its journey on Thursday, and will travel 4,000 kilometres in a month, from Islamabad to Karachi via Peshawar, Lahore and Quetta.
Prepared at the Islamabad Carriage Factory and decorated to represent the country's heritage, the train showcases the cultures of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Jammu and Kashmir.
It also depicts various projects being undertaken by the PML-N government, including Lahore's metro bus, power plants and other projects.
Pakistan Railways was assisted by the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) and Lok Virsa in the endeavour.
