CHITRAL: MNA from Chitral Shahzada Iftikharuddin has said that completion of the three federal government-funded roads in Chitral along with Chakdara-Chitral highway will pave the way for progress of this backward district.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that work on designing of Shandur road (147km), Garam Chashma road (67km) and Kalash valleys road (47km) had been started while the ground breaking of these projects would take place by coming June.

“The roads of Kalash valleys and Garam Chashma will lead to full exploitation of the potential of tourism of the scenic valleys and the tourism activity will go on round the year,” he said and added that this would create numerous jobs and the issue of unemployment would be resolved.

“Per capita income in Chitral has been projected to be the highest of all the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the completion of the three internal roads and the Lowari Tunnel coupled with Chakdara-Chitral highway,” he claimed.
