FLUENCY in English and efficiency in using a computer are keys to success today, specifically while seeking a job.
That is exactly why most students are focusing on learning English and using computers. This trend has seen a big rise in private coaching centres during the last couple of decades where both English language and computer skills are taught.
I live in Larkana where many English and computer coaching centres can be seen all around. These centres are no more than money-making industries where making profit is the only goal.
The teaching faculties of these centres are not worth producing qualified and well-educated students.
The same syllabus is being followed since their inception.
Not only these private centres but also those affiliated with government boards such as the Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) have never bothered to urge the board to revise the 16-year-old syllabus taught at coaching centres all over the province. The SBTE and other boards are requested to upgrade the syllabuses of different courses according to modern-day requirements.
