SWABI: Two minor sisters were burnt to death and their mother was seriously injured when their room caught fire on Sunday night at Right Bank Colony of Tarbela Dam.

Abdullah, the father of deceased girls, told Dawn that he was working at the under construction Fourth Extension Project of Tarbela Dam and he was on duty at night.

“It seemed that the fire was caused by short circuit of electricity,” he added.

Mr Abdullah said that his injured wife took both the minor girls to the attached bathroom but no one listened to their cries for help. He said that his parents awoke to the noise after some time but they could not open the door of the room.

Mr Abdullah said that later they broke the exhaust fan and entered the room through the space and found the two minor children dead and their mother unconscious.

“Both the girls, six-month-old Aiman Abdullah and two-and-half-year-old Eiman Abdullah were in the lap of their unconscious mother,” he said.

The injured woman was taken to Sobra City Hospital in Haripur and from there she was referred to Combined Military Civil Hospital in Rawalpindi.

The deceased girls were laid to rest at the graveyard of Right Bank Colony.
