KARACHI: Eidul Azha festivities in Pakistan began Tuesday, with people attending congregational prayers in the morning, donning new clothes and preparing their animals for sacrifice.
Security was stepped up in various cities on Eid, and security forces in Shikarpur foiled a suicide blast at an imambargah during prayers.
This roundup of photos shows how Eid is being celebrated around the country:

I wish we could feel and celebrate the goodness of Eid in this country. Unfortunately, with the daily bloodshed and suicide attacks, the real essence of Eid is lost.

I don't like the pictures where animals are shown being handled for sacrifice. All the channels are showing this kind of video. Do we have to do that? Where is PEMRA , they should take note of other people's sensitivity.

Beautiful pictures.
On a different note, people who are not familiar with camels, should not pass comments. Camels like other animals do not cry with tears. Tears are unique to humans. That line is from liberal use of color (most likely Hina) applied around eyes to make animal look beautiful to buyers and onlookers.

@indian muslim - Dont you Dear? Since independence Indian Govt has given more importance and security to all minorities in India should it be for religious freedom or education or any other matter related to religion. So many people from minorities has assumed top most posts in Govt or Private organisation. So what's your problem? Surprised.

@Hassan I was born in Nazimabad and lived my entire life in Gulshan e Iqbal. I can also give you my CNIC number but that would be too much of an information. What i am stating is the truth. It is true that thay have public holidays on eid. I am not denying whats happening in kashmir and its deplorable but as perceived by many, muslims can freely celebrate eids, muharram and 12th rabi ul awwal (i know many indian muslims personally).

Everyone there has had Smartphones for years, but you don't see them stopping everywhere and anywhere to shoot a selfie. They use the technology for more productive pursuit to see their own pictures on the phone! Hence the advancement of the society.
