BAJAUR: Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif offered prayers with the army and FC troops in Bajaur Agency on Eid day.

He reviewed the ongoing stabilisation operations and rehabilitation and reconstruction measures to enforce border management with Afghanistan in the region, said an ISPR press release.

He commended the troops for their sacrifices and appreciated their high morale even though they were away from their families on the auspicious occasion.

Tribal elders joined the army chief in offering Eid prayers and spent time with him.

The COAS praised the tribal elders for rendering sacrifices in the cause of elimination of terrorists and restoration of peace to the area. He urged them to continue their support for maintaining the writ of the state which was helping the military bring about development and prosperity.

Gen Sharif reiterated the resolve that the army would not leave without completing the job of bringing peace, completing rehabilitation and transferring the administrative control to an institutionalised mechanism.
