MARDAN: The District Bar Association, Mardan, has expressed reservations about security arrangements at the district courts and criticised the government for not taking the matter seriously.

In this regard, a meeting of the district bar was held here on Thursday with its president Ameer Hussain in the chair. It was attended by DBA officer-bearers as well as other lawyers.

They reviewed the situation after the suicide attack on the district courts, Mardan.

The issue of security arrangements in the court premises and Shuhada package were also discussed among other issues. They criticised both the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments for ignoring their security and wellbeing.

The meeting decided to boycott proceedings of the district courts on Sept 17, (Saturday) and also called the general body meeting of DBA on the same day to put pressure on the authorities concerned for fulfillment of their demands.
