PESHAWAR: Three army personnel lost their lives in a gun attack in Garhi Sohbat Khan on the outskirts of the provincial capital on Sunday morning.

Talking to Dawn, SP Rural Shaukat Khan said that the army men were coming from a military dairy farm by van when they came under fire.

They were identified as Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Talla Gang; Mohammad Farid of Kohota and Abdur Rehman, a resident of Chitral.

Sources at the Khazana police station said that police and other security personnel carried out a search operation in the area soon after the incident, but no arrest was reported.

The SP said initial investigation suggested that there were four attackers on two motorcycles.
