Forex in Quetta

Published September 21, 2016

I AM a Pakistani working abroad. We return once a year on annual vacations and face many problems in encashing foreign currency.

Last month I was back home in Quetta on annual leave and wanted to withdraw some money from my foreign currency account. I visited the main branch of a private bank.

The branch had no foreign currency to encash an account holder’s cheque nor was there any foreign currency exchange rate list on display.

The State Bank issues foreign currency exchange rates daily and bank branches which operate foreign currency accounts are bound to display these rates.

The State Bank should ensure that banks that deal with foreign currency accounts follow the rules.
