KARACHI: Former world amateur snooker champion Mohammad Asif and reigning national champion Mohammad Bilal won their respective openers to cruise into pre quarter-finals of the 15-Reds snooker in the inaugural Asian Billiards Sports Championship at Fujairah on Monday.

According to results made available here, Asif fought back from two frames down to post 4-2 victory over Japan’s Tetsuya Kuwata with the scores being 57-61, 39-50, 62-39, 73-14, 71-32, 61-14.

Bilal also made a comeback from 1-3 down to win the fully stretched battle over Mongolian Enkhjargal Enkhbaatar 4-3 (45-54, 65-77, 88-19, 67-68, 87-31, 79-25, 80-14).
