ABBOTTABAD: At least six people died and three others sustained injuries when an Abbottabad-bound van skidded at a sharp turn and fell into a deep ditch here on Wednesday.

The ill-fated van was coming from Namli Meera village in Galiyat. All the six people were killed on the spot.

According to SHO Bagnother police station Tahir Saleem the injured and dead were shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Abbottabad. Later, two of the injured were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex in critical condition.

Those who died in the accident were identified as Zara Bibi, Waqar, Abrar, Asrar, Noman, Shazia and Gulnaz Bibi, while the injured included Waseem, Shafeeq and Ahsan.
