TAXILA: Aqeel Khan dispatched Rashid Khan 6-1, 6-0 to ease into the men’s singles second round of the First Chairman POF Board National Ranking Tennis Championships at the Ordnance Club Wah Cantt here on Monday.

It was one of 19 matches decided on the opening day of the tournament oragnised by the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Sports Control Board with collaboration with Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF).

POF director Industrial and commercial relations Tabassum Rehman inaugurated the event.

POF Sports Control Board president Dr Aamir Murad informed that competitions in the categories of men’s singles, ladies singles, boy’s under-18 singles, boys’ under-14 singles, boys & girls under-10 singles, men’s doubles and 45-Plus men’s doubles will be held.

The tournament concludes on Sunday.
