Police on Friday registered a case against the owner of Ciaton Engineering Company where three workers died late Thursday night after a boiler exploded inside the industrial unit in Karachi's New Karachi area.

"Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Ghulam Mohiuddin, owner of the factory, on behalf of the State of Pakistan through the police under Section 322 of Pakistan Penal Code,"

The police official added that the boiler explosion occurred in Ciaton Engineering Company in the are of New Karachi on late Thursday night, causing critical injuries to four workers.

Ahmad told Dawn that workers were transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced two of them, identified as Rafiq and Salman as dead on arrival.

The police official added that that third injured worker, Mansoor died during treatment.

Another victim of the explosion, Rasheed is currently admitted at the hospital for treatment.
