MINGORA: Two women were burnt to death after a fire broke out in their house due to an electric short-circuit in Mian Bela area of Kabal tehsil late Thursday night.

According to Shah Dherai police, the fire erupted in the house of Itabar Gul and Hayat Gul due to electricity short-circuit, reducing the nine-room house to ashes.

“Itbar Gul’s wife Mohtaj Bibi and his daughter, Humaira, were burnt to death while Itebar Gul was severely injured. A cow and goat were also killed,” said a police official.

He said according to the house owner, he suffered an estimated loss of Rs5.8 million.

Local residents rushed to the house when they saw huge flames and screams of the inmates.
