LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has suspended Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hockey Association secretary Zahir Shah for his alleged activities.

“Zahir Shah, KP Hockey Association secretary

and Peshawar’s representative to the PHF, has been suspended from any hockey related activities by the PHF, taking a serious notice of his unwarranted activities in KP hockey affairs,” a PHF press-release stated here on Wednesday.

“A number of complaints were received from the province that Zahir was hindering smooth conduct of hockey activities.”

The PHF formed a disciplinary/scrutiny committee in line with its constitution to look into the matter.

As per the preliminary findings of the committee, Mr Shah has been found involved in the violation of PHF constitution, IOC Charter, National Sports Policy, National Inter Club Tournament’s bylaws plus bringing bad name to the PHF,” the press-release further stated.
