The CTD arrested two suspects on their way in a car. One of their accomplices managed to escape. The arrested were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan was authorised four separate inquiries against officers and officials of food and revenue departments on charges of embezzlement and cheating in procurement of wheat and issuance of gunny bags in Multan, Khanewal, Vehari and Lodhran district.

According to an official handout issued by the NAB Multan, the suspects were together involved in corruption in purchase of wheat and distribution of gunny bag as they were collecting 1kg and 2kg extra wheat on each bag of 50kg and 100kg, respectively, purchased for the government.
