An Android Harry Potter game

A game for Harry Potter fans has been released on Android. The game, which Warner brother has made with Google, will allow user to cast spells on their mobile phones and use virtual reality to explore hidden worlds. But first, users will have to work out how to unlock it.

It’s all part of the launch of the new Harry Potter film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in British cinemas. The game will use the ‘OK Google’ voice command to cast spells, with ‘Lumos’ or ‘Nox’ being able to turn a flashlight on and off.

‘Silencio’ meanwhile will silence a phone’s ringer and any noises from notifications. Google Maps, including scenes and locations from the films, can be seen on the app. There will also be a magic feature on Google’s ‘Daydream’ virtual reality platform, which will enable users to tour Newt Scamander’s apartment with a wand, puzzles and magical creatures. The games are available to download now on Android.

Sylvester Stallone’s daughters as Miss Golden Globe

Miss/Mr Golden Globe — for the first time in history — could be multiplied this year by a factor of three.

All three daughters of Sylvester Stallone will be named Miss Golden Globe, sources say, and will share the duties of escorting presenters and honourees on- and off stage, as well as carrying the actual globular statuettes. A Golden Globes spokesperson said no final decision has been made for the January 8, 2017, event.

Miss/Mr Golden Globe, chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, is traditionally the daughter or son of a Hollywood heavyweight. Past honourees have included Linda Evans, Laura Dern, Melanie Griffith and her daughter Dakota Johnson.

Emma Watson hiding books on the tube

The Harry Potter star was spotted by eagle-eyed fans running around St John’s Wood and Oxford Street stations recently as part of the ‘Books on the Underground’ campaign.

She wrote on Facebook: ‘I’ve been hiding copies of Mom and Me and Mom for ‘Books on the Underground’ on the tube today! See if you can find one tomorrow!’

The actress filmed herself placing books along the escalator rail at one of the stations as commuters rushed past her. Those that did take notice tweeted about it. The actress also left a special note inside the books for lucky fans. She may have left the wizarding world but she still knows how to bring magic to other people’s lives.

Watson, who will next be seen on screen in the upcoming live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, was recently honoured at Harper’s Bazaar UK’s Women of the Year awards.
