LAHORE: The Okara district administration with the Agriculture Department unearthed on Friday a factory involved in manufacturing spurious DAP fertilizer and arrested three suspects in the Baseerpur area of Deepalpur.

Officials also seized sand, crush stone and hundreds of fertilizer bags from the spot.

According to a handout by the Directorate of Agricultural Information Punjab, the seized samples were dispatched to the laboratory for chemical analysis.

Police arrested Muhammad Siddique, Liaqat Ali and Muhammad Asghar in a case under the Punjab Fertilizers Control Act of 2013.

The raid is part of an ongoing campaign against the people involved in manufacturing and selling spurious fertilizers and pesticides.
