CHIBA (Japan): Ibrahim Iltifat of Pakistan went down to India’s Mina Jay in a one-sided opening clash at the eighth Asian Soft Tennis Championship here on Thursday.

Pakistan will play their doubles match on Saturday while the team event will be contested on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the general assembly of the Asian Soft Tennis Federation was also held here on Thursday and elected both its president and secretary from Japan.

The house was also informed that soft tennis has been included in the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games. PTF secretary Khalid Rehmani represented Pakistan at the assembly.

As many as 18 countries from Asia are competing in the tournament.
