RECENTLY growers held protests in Larkana and Sukkur over low paddy price, water shortage, according to a report in your paper (Nov 15).
Everyone knows that water is becoming scarcer in Pakistan, specially in Sindh, though we still grow paddy. No wonder, there is a shortage because the Sindh government allows it . The chief minister should put an end to rice plantation in water-starved Sindh and save the remaining water for the next generation.

So what do you suggest as an alternative. Farmers starving and mass unemployment.
Surely the answer is to ensure all provinces receive fair share of water from the rivers.
