LAHORE: The first Sonex Junior Tennis Championships has entered the semi-final stage as quarter-finals in different age categories were decided at the Bagh-i-Jinnah courts here on Thursday.

In under-18 boys’ singles quarter-finals, Muzamil Murtaza defeated Abdul Haider 6-2, 6-4, Barkatullah battled hard to earn victory against Yousaf Khan 7-6, 7-5, Saqib Umer outplayed Asadullah 6-4, 6-3 and Aman Atiq Khan carved out victory against M. Sohaib 6-0, 6-1.

In girls’ singles quarter-finals, Noor Malik had a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Amina Fahad, Maheen Khan ousted Nabiha Kamran 6-2, 6-0 while Shimza Tahir had easy sailing against Malika Malik 6-1, 6-2.
