QUETTA: Customs intelligence seized nine oil tankers carrying 250,000 litres of Iranian diesel worth Rs24 million when it was being smuggled to Karachi and Punjab, officials said on Thursday.
Some non-duty paid vehicles and other items worth millions of rupees were also seized, they added.
The confiscated Iranian diesel was being smuggled through Panjgur and Surab when customs personnel intercepted it on the highway. Officials claimed that smugglers were using invoices of fake companies and posing as if the diesel was being brought from Karachi-based refineries to Quetta.
