SWABI: Two motorcyclists on Saturday shot dead a singer in a village in Topi, said police.

The incident occurred in Zareenabad village of Kotha union council.

Police said Darvaish Khan, the singer, was at his home, when two motorcyclists knocked at his door. When he came out, he was prayed with bullets. When the family members heard the gunshots they rushed out.

Registering an FIR in Topi police station, wife of the deceased singer said as they came out they found him lying in a pool of blood. She said the attackers escaped the scene. She said cause of the killing was not known as they had no enmity with anyone.

The locals suspected that militants might have been involved in the singer’s killing. However, police officials said he was having two wives and the incident was caused by women relations. Later, he was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at Zareenabad.

Two days back, an official of Counter Terrorism Depa-rtment was killed and another injured by unidentified militants on Swabi-Mardan road.
