ISLAMABAD: The Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Kabaddi Championship will start here on Monday at the Jinnah Stadium of Pakistan Sports Complex.
As many as 12 teams including PAF, Pakistan Army, Wapda, Pakistan Railways, Sui Gas, HEC, Police, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will take part in the championship.
The final of the championship will be held on Saturday. Balochistan will be in action against Sui Gas in the first match.
The teams are divided into four groups and two teams from each group will compete against each other in the quarter finals.
The wining team will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs400,000 while the runner-ups will receive a cash award of Rs200,000 with the best players of the championship (one rider and one defender) will be awarded Rs25,000 each.
Pakistan Kabaddi Federation secretary Mohammad Sarwar said that the tournament would also serve as base for selection of Pakistan’s national team, adding that players will also be selected for the upcoming first-ever Kabaddi League of Pakistan which the federation is planning to hold next year.
