Security forces on Monday claimed to have killed two suspected militants in Balochistan's Dera Bugti district.

The suspected militants were killed in an exchange of fire in the Sartaf area of Dera Bugti district.

"Frontier Corps forces launched an operation against miscreants in Sartaf area of Dera Bugti district," said the spokesperson for the FC.

He added the security forces also demolished five 'safe havens' being used by the 'miscreants' in the area.

"Security forces also recovered weapons and explosions from the possession of the miscreants and they were involved in attacks on national institutions in the area," added the FC spokesperson.

In a separate search operation, rocket launchers and explosives were recovered from the Sangan area of Sibi district.

Balochistan has been experiencing incidents of violence and targeted killings for over a decade. The largest province of the country by area, is home to a insurgency by ethnic Baloch separatists.

Al Qaeda-linked and sectarian militants also operate in the region. The province shares borders with Afghanistan and Iran.
