Chaudhrys of Gujrat

Published December 3, 2016

THE case against Nawaz Sharif has been initiated by the PTI, but, in fact, it should have been initiated much earlier by the PAC, NAB or AGPR. However, there was a lot of controversy going on about the time when Mr Sharif bought the apartment in his children’s name in London. The apartments, in fact, were bought in 1993, as informed by Khwaja Asif, his close associate.

The two Chaudhrys of Gujrat and Sharifs of Lahore got written off bank loans worth Rs22bn and Rs21bn, respectively, during Ziaul Haq’s tenure. The big question is, why aren’t Choudhrys of Gujrat being questioned by the media about the properties they bought in Spain, South Korea, Dubai and, of course, London.
