Life-size Titanic replica being built in China
The construction of a life-size replica of Titanic has begun at a Mediterranean-themed attraction in China. The company behind it, Seven Star Energy Investment Group, said it should be completed by late next year.
Titanic replica will be part of the Romandisea Seven Star International Cultural Tourism Resort, along the Qijiang River in Sichuan Province’s Daying County.
Besides a feel of the original vessel, the attraction will also provide visitors with a simulation of Titanic’s collision with an iceberg and subsequent sinking.
According to veteran Hollywood production designer and producer Curtis Schnell, who is also working on the project, “We are not building every room in the ship by any means, but the shell of the ship and the exteriors will be quite accurate and there will be interior rooms for people to tour and see from the standpoint of historical accuracy,” Schnell disclosed.
Nintendo-themed attractions coming to Hollywood
Universal Parks and Resorts announced recently that they will collaborate with Nintendo to bring Nintendo-themed attractions to their parks in California, Florida and Japan.
Creative teams from both Nintendo and Universal Parks stated the goal of the attractions, scheduled to open separately over the next several years, is to bring Nintendo’s video games to life in new, innovative and ‘breathtakingly authentic’ ways.
“Imagine the fun of stepping into a larger-than-life Nintendo adventure,” they said. “Gigantic Piranha Plants spring to life. Question blocks, power-ups and more surround you. And Mario and all his friends are there to pull you into a brand-new world.”
The environments will feature multiple attractions, shops and restaurants.
