LAHORE: Federal Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s son Ahmed Iqbal has been elected unopposed chairman of the Narowal district council after two independents and a candidate of the PTI withdrew their candidatures.
A notification issued by Returning Officer Hassan Hote on Friday says Ahmed Iqbal-led panel (including two vice chairmen Muhammad Zarar and Shahzad Munir Chaudhry) has been elected unopposed.
Ahmed, 31, holds public administration and local governance degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He has also worked as consultant to the World Bank at Washington DC and has also been affiliated with the World Resources Institute of the USA and Merrill Lynch.
