KHAIRPUR, Dec 19: The wheat flour is being sold at higher price in different towns of the district, residents told this correspondent on Friday.

They said in Kumb, Kot Diji, Bungalow, Sobhodero, Agra, Jado Wahan and other towns flour was being sold at 15-16 rupees per kilo, while in Khairpur it was 13-14 rupees per kilo.

Shopkeepers said flour was supplied to them on high price. On the other hand, flour of rice and maize was also sold at high price.

WATER: Water supply to seven localities of the town remained suspended since last three days.

Residents of Munshi Mohalla, Wado Alam, Dabar, Osta Gaahi, Mir Ali Bazar, Panj Hatti, Godo shop and Hashmi Ghatti were deprived of drinking water.

The residents staged a protest demonstration outside the press club and told the newsmen that school-going children and government employees suffered a lot due to the water shortage.

FERTILIZER HOARDING: Activists of the Sindh Hari Committee, led by district president Wajood Shar, took out a procession against an artificial shortage of fertilizer in Thari Mirwah on Friday on second consecutive day of their protest.

They told the newsmen that traders had hoarded fertilizer and had increased the rate from Rs700 to Rs1,000.

PPP: People’s Party Parliamentarian MNA Manzoor Hussain Wassan has said that only Benazir Bhutto can take out the country from political crisis.

Speaking at a corner meeting during his visit to Tando Masti on Friday, he said when Benazir suggested to establish better relations with India, eyebrows were raised against her, but today the rulers were issuing such statements.
