Speaking at the ceremony, MNA Mahar acknowledged the efforts put in by the Salu VC and her team in promoting the cause of education and leading the university to a high ranking institution. He also appreciated the High Education Commission and provincial government for their cooperation in helping Salu acquire the college building. He expressed his confidence that a campus of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology would also be established in Ghotki soon.

Mr Mahar observed that development and progress of Sindh and prosperity of its people were directly linked with the standards maintained by the educational institutions of the province.

Speaking about the speedy growth of Salu, she said the institution was established as a college in Khairpur in 1976 and attained the status of a university within the next 10 years. “Today, Salu has its campuses in Shikarpur, Shahdadkot and Ghotki,” she said.
