Renowned Pakistani batsman Ahmed Shahzad has been fined Rs20,000 after he ‘misbehaved’ with an umpire during a match between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Habib Bank Limited (HBL).
Ahmed Shahzad is skipper of the HBL team.
The match was being played as part of the on-going departmental one-day cup.
The fine was imposed after Shehzad reacted to the umpire's decision, after which the match referee, Anis ur Rehman, reported the incident to the management, who decided to fine the cricketer with a Rs20,000 penalty.

He will not going to learn by fines. He is frustrated for obvious reasons. He miserably failed to impress by his bat, now he opted the other route of being noticed and succeeded.

He is not going to mend his behavior despite warnings and fines several times. He is not fit to be in national team in any format. The Board should ensure that every cricketer should strictly adhere to the Discipline Code.

I think is rather victim. He still hold better average than many playing test side but he has been ignored. Very sad. I hope he gets selected back in at least test side. He is a fine player but mishandled.

There is a famous saying in days of Roman Empire" Once you lose argument(In case of Ahmad Shazad performance with the bat) you resort to scuffle. It is happening every time with him and Umer Akmal Only. my advice is he should let his bat do the talking rather than his tongue or arrogance as being done by so many quite professionals like Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Amir, Younas Khan, Sarfaraz and on top of that Misbah all by himself.

Bad Behavior Ahmad Shazad, he is senior most cricketer after Misbah, he is right person to be captain, not date expired cricketer Azhar Ali who has been dropped from cricket in 2013 and reemerged as captain, without capability, record, ability become captain bcs he has PIRCHI system and right hand man and yes sir to waqar yunus and Misbah Tuk tuks never win ODI with "A" Class team by Azhar Ali and Misbah is looser o w/cup 2011 Mahali with 30 runs with India and w/cup 2015, due to Shazad he is not sober, bad attitude, wrong friendship, warning he did not changed his Behavior it is regret that Bank given him captaincy, he should fine 5 times more than Rs.20,000/-

For once I feel bad for Ahmed. Looks like he was point that the ball was pitched out side the leg stump. If he didn't use any bad words it isn't such a big deal. After seeing the video it looks like a bad decision from the umpire.

Umpire's decision is a shocker, Shehzad's anger is not misplaced but you got to walk after the umpire raises the finger.

Ahmed Shahzad got weak batting technique and worst attitude - a complete disaster recipe. On the other hand, Shahid Afridi survived due to his good character, though he got the worst batting technique.

Ahmad Shahzad has to control his nerves with strong mental strength otherwise his career as cricketer will continue to remain in doubts.

I know people will laugh at me since I do not have any evidence, but all those Akmal's and Ahmad Shahzad are, one way or another, involved in match fixing. I had noticed many, many times they will play great in one game and in the very next, just play terrible. I cannot find a reason for such behavior. All the Akmal's and Shahzad should be banned for life. That is the only way to keep cricket Pakistan clean. Oh, by the way, anyone remember Zulqarnian Haider and how mysteriously he did not want to play for Pakistan?

@Zahid Malik Incorrect, the ball dropped just outside of leg stump. Also, I am not convinced the ball would have hit the stumps, so clearly that is a bad decision. Now, I am not an Ahmad Shehzad fan, but not only it was a bad decision, his protest was quite mild and didn't deserve a big fine, which is exactly what I think he got - a small fine. 20,000 rupees is a small fine. So, I think media is making a big deal out of nothing.

The ball pitched a foot outside leg stump! Was this dud of an umpire fined too? Not condoning the batter but the match referee and the cricket board's policies on player behaviours need to be better

The ball pitched a foot outside leg stump! Any sane cricketer would be upset if umpires were this lousy. I wonder how much the umpire has been fined? Not condoning the batter but this episode make the PCB look pathetic as usual
