Skardu airport

Published December 23, 2016

ON Monday the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly passed a resolution aimed at renaming Skardu airport after renowned mountaineer Hassan Sadpara.

Hassan’s death last month left many aggrieved and distressed. This move by the G-B Assembly would honour his achievements, as he still holds the record of being the first Pakistani to summit six 8000m plus peaks in the world, including Mount Everest.
