GUJRAT: The University Gujrat (UoG) may introduce a special quota for students from Gilgit-Baltistan, it was learnt on Friday.

The proposal was put forward for approval at the 8th Academic Council meeting of the varsity presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ziaul Qayyum here at the Hafiz Hayat campus.

The UoG accepts individuals from all regions of the country on merit. It also provides admission to students from less and underprivileged areas against a certain number of reserved seats. According to sources, the Gilgit-Baltistan quota proposal is likely to be part of the UoG Fall 2017 admission policy.
