TAXILA: Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a robbers’ gang and arrested its eight members involved in the crime in Attock and other districts.

Addressing mediapersons District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Zahid Nawaz Marwat said the gang was involved in looting a bank and a general store in Ghourghushti.

DPO said a team headed by DSP Hazro Fiaz ul Haq traced the robbers and arrested them after employing modern technique of investigation and recovered Rs1,159,000 , four pistols , one rifle , one repeater and thousands of rounds from them. The DPO said that their two accomplices were still at large.

He said that in Hazro circle 120 cases of illegal arms, 202 cases of drugs and 87 cases under National Action Plan had been registered and 164 proclaimed offenders arrested.
