BAHAWALPUR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan is expected to address a public meeting in the city on Sunday.

The PTI local chapter has completed arrangements for the public meeting to be held at local stadium, where thousands of chairs have been placed for the participants.

In this connection, hoardings, banners and posters have been installed along the several roads across the city.

Meanwhile, party chief Imran Khan accompanied by PTI secretary general MNA Jahangir Khan Tareen dashed to Lodhran to offer condolences to the families of the schoolchildren who died in Saturday’s train collision.

Speaking on the occasion, Imran Khan demanded resignation of railway minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq, saying that during his tenure 12 train accidents had occurred, claiming many precious lives.

He regretted if flyovers and and underpasses had been built at Lodhran as well as promised by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his visit to the city on Nov 6, 2015, the precious life of the children could have been saved.

He also criticised the prime minister and his daughter for alleged money-laundering.
