LAHORE: President Mamnoon Hussain said on Tuesday Pakistan’s future was bright and economy had improved owing to pragmatic policies of the government.

Addressing a conference titled “Two Nation Theory -- from Sir Syed to Quaid-i-Azam” in connection with the 200th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan at Alhmara, he lauded the government for ridding the country of “ill effects of the poor governance of past regimes.”

He said there was no change in the CPEC route and some people were creating misunderstanding for nothing. He announced Rs2.5 million for the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust library.

CM: The president also held a meeting with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and discussed various public welfare projects.

The chief minister said the government had set new records of the public service in the last three and a half years, and work on the public welfare projects worth billions was going on.

He said the government had put the economy on the right track despite obstructions and all indicators show that the economy is progressing.
