SUKKUR: A nine-member team of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) visited the Ghulam Mohammad Mahar Medical College and teaching hospital on Wednesday, rekindling hopes of lifting of ban on the college.
The team visited different wards and laboratories in the college and the teaching hospital, classrooms, lecture halls and experimental laboratories and inspected the facilities being extended to students.
The team reviewed preparations for installing CT scan and MRI machines in radiology department and checked different instruments in wards and laboratories.
The members interviewed heads of departments as well as doctors of the college and the hospitals and jotted down their remarks.
College principal Prof Dr Ghulam Hyder Rind and assistant registrar Dr Altaf Mirani said the team was satisfied with the facilities and they hoped the council would soon restore affiliation of the college and lift ban on new admissions.
