LAHORE: Aman Atiq Khan of SNGPL and Mahin Khan on Saturday won their boys and girls U-18 titles, respectively, in the third Alam-el-Khayal National Junior Tennis Champio­nships at the Bagh-i-Jinnah courts here on Saturday.

Aman came from behind to outplay Shoaib Khan in the boys’ final with the score being in his favour 4-6, 6-0, 6-2. In the first set, Aman established a 4-0 lead but Shoaib roared back to win the set without dropping any further game.

But it proved last laugh for Shoaib as Aman showing no mercy bounced back aggressively winning the remaining two sets quite comfortably and the title, too.

In the girls section, Mahin Aftab had a cakewalk victory against Shimza Tahir winning the final without conceding any game 6-0, 6-0.

In U-18 boys’ doubles, Harris Irfan-ul-Haq pairing with Ahmed Asjad defeated Aman Atiq and Huzaifa Abdul Rehman 7-6, 6-3 to win the title. In the U-16 boys’ event, Huzaifa emer­ged victorious, thrashing Hamaza bin Rehan 6-4, 6-2 in the final with Nalain Abbass crushing Faizan Fayyaz 6-1, 6-2 to grab U-14 title.

Abdul Hanan Khan won the U-12 title beating Kashan Umer 8-2, with Hamza Roman lifting the crown in the U-10 final, beating Ehtesham Hum­ayun 8-4.
