KOHAT: The JUI-F and PTI have announced an alliance to prevent a no confidence motion against the district nazim.

The announcement came after PTI members were asked to stop any attempt of bringing any no confidence in the council and to repose unconditional confidence in the dirtrict nazim Maulana Niaz Mohammad, who is from JUI-F.

PTI’s Naseem Afridi, the opposition leader in the district council, made the announcement while addressing a joint press conference here on Monday.

MPA Ziaullah Bangash, who was also present on the occasion, claimed that the politics of use of money and floor crossing started by the PML-N had been buried forever.

It may be recalled that former senator Abbas Afridi and MPA Amjid Afridi had launched a campaign for bringing no confidence motion in the district council for de-seating the district nazim.

But the JUI-F’s district leadership and PTI MPs became active and in separate meetings decided to form an alliance for defeating the no confidence move.

Following lengthy deliberations both the sides agreed to join hands in case the no-confidence move was tabled.

Both expressed their confidence in the leadership of incumbent nazim, with the PTI members announcing that they had no intentions to replace him.

JUI-F district emir Maulana Abdul Hayee, secretary general Jamil Paracha, MPA Ziaullah Bangash, district nazim Maulana Niaz Mohammad and councilors from both the parties were present on the occasion.
