A new beginning

This is with reference to the story “A new beginning” by Qurat-ul-ain Aamir (YW, December 31, 2016). I liked the story because it highlighted the fact that sometimes people become so careless that they completely ignore their friends who are going through hard times.

They focus just on their life and happiness, however, if they give a bit of attention to their struggling friends, who are being tested by destiny, they could somehow bring relief and happiness in their life.

Clean up your online existence

This is with reference to the website review “Clean up your online existence” by Asif Ali (YW, December 17). The website review came in time when I really needed to delete some of my accounts because of the many newsletters that I accidentally signed up for, and also the loads of junk piling up in my inbox.

I would like to thank the writer for reviewing a very helpful site and also thank the YW team for publishing always the best stuff for us to read.

Cruelty to animals

I want to draw the attention of all readers to the fact that we are humans and we should show some mercy on animals. I am sad to write here that a couple of days ago I saw a kid hurling a stone at a kitten under a vegetable cart.

The kitten was doing nothing to the kid, and was just trying to hide itself from the crowd and possibly the cold.

Yet the kid was not stopping and kept hurting the kitten.

I interrupted the kid, and asked his mum to stop him from doing it. Instead of stopping the action, she told me to mind my own business. This hurt me immensely because if parents don’t teach their children responsible behaviour, how can a child learn it? Such children will grow up into bullies.

I request all the readers to have a soft heart for creatures who depend on our love and care!

A long winter’s sleep

This is with reference to the article “A long winter’s sleep” by Talat Naz (YW, December 24, 2016). It was an amazing article about how some animals’ life change in winter. The article was very informative and I enjoyed reading it.

I am thankful to Dawn for providing us with a magazine like Young World. Also, I want to request the YW team to start a column about the history of the world which will be of great importance to kids who like and want to read about world history.
