Three army men, including a major, were injured during a 'routine sanitisation operation' in Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.

Major Abbas, Captain Omer and Naik Adnan were injured in an exchange of fire with suspected terrorists in the Luni Jungle area, 8 kilometres south of DI Khan's Kulachi, the statement said.

One 'terrorist' suspected of affiliation with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan Naurang group was killed in an exchange of fire, the ISPR said, and eight suspects were apprehended in a search operation in the area.
