Pakistan cricket team’s opener Sharjeel Khan on Wednesday credited the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for his re-emergence in international cricket.

Khan, while talking to DawnNews, said the inaugural season of PSL was a turning point in his career.

"For me the Pakistan Super League changed everything. After a good performance in PSL, I was selected in the T20 team and then was selected for ODIs"

Sharjeel said his century against Peshawar in the play off was memorable occasion.

"It was a very important game, and that hundred was really special and give me immense confidence to play,” added the opener.

Khan said that Islamabad United’s coach Dean Jones essential to his performance and also helped Islamabad United to win the first edition of the PSL.

"Dean Jones gives us energy and confidence, he encouraged me and the words from the cricket legend gave me a lot of confidence,” added Khan, he also credited Misbah’s calm presence and sensible approach for the win.

The batsmen also credited Wasim Akram’s presence for all the players of the team and said Akram’s guidance was instrumental.
