Day two of the Pakistan Super League saw Quetta Gladiators beat Lahore Qalandars by eight runs in the first game. In the second match of the day, Karachi Kings lost to Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets.

The flying bat

Rilee Rossouw was left with only the bat handle in his hands as a ball from Bilawal Bhatti broke his bat into two. There was bemusement all around. These huge bats used for power hitting don't seem to last too long.

With plenty of sponsors around, a replacement was out in a jiffy.

Quack quack

Umar Akmal walked in with Lahore Qalandars 49/2 in the 5th over, chasing a modest 137 for victory. Facing his fourth ball, last season's top scorer miss-hit the shot to mid off for a simple catch and departed for a duck.

New kid on the block

18-year-old Hasan Khan took a wicket off the first ball of his T20 debut. It set into motion Quetta's march toward an impressive victory and no one seemed more delighted than Sir Viv in the dugout. Hasan was also man of the match.

The professor returns

Mohammad Hafeez did not bowl in the tournament opener but with Junaid Khan dropped, he came on to deliver the first over. After a couple of dot balls, the professor schooled Shahzaib Hasan as the poor batsman holed out to long on.

Captain selfie

It is hard to say what was better from Darren Sammy, the catch or the celebration. He flew in the slips to catch a blinder to get rid of Babar Azam and then gathered his teammates to take an imaginary selfie.

No love lost

Mohammad Hafeez won't be sending Mohammad Amir any cards on Valentine's Day, as there seems little love lost between the two. Their brief history added another leaf, as Amir ended the professor's stay at the crease within four balls with no runs conceded.

In the spotlight

Lesser-known Abrar Ahmed had a very impressive debut as he put out his bag of tricks including flight, turn and googlies. He bowled with a big heart, flighting the ball till his last over. The only boundary he conceded was a six by the in-form Eion Morgan off his second last ball. Up until that point, Abrar had conceded only 13 runs off 22 balls.
