RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs to Uganda, seized a kg of heroin hidden in a bracket fan, and arrested a passenger at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Sunday.

According to the ASF, the drugs were recovered during the passengers’ security check-in for Emirates Airline flight EK-615. An ASF official spotted a carton, which contained the bracket fan, which they found suspicious and asked to search it.

The drugs were recovered from inside the fan during the search and the passenger, a Peshawar resident who intended to travel to Uganda via Dubai, was taken into custody and handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for legal proceedings.
