KOHAT: Four persons, including a woman, were killed and 16 others were injured in separate incidents in parts of Kohat on Tuesday.

In Ustarzai Payan, a money dispute claimed life of a young man, Asif Ali.

Police quoted Altaf, father of the deceased, as saying that Liaquat Ali and his son, Hussain, had killed his son. After a search operation Liaquat Ali was held along with a rifle, a pistol and 45 cartridges while his son managed to escape.

In Warshand area of Lachi tehsil, Waliullah killed his friend Sanaullah over a dispute. Later his body was thrown into a jungle. The police registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s father, Mubashir Ahmed.

In a traffic accident on Hangu road, a speeding car hit people standing on the roadside. As a result, Gulnar Begum was killed while Azizullah and Shabbir Khan were seriously injured.

In Togh Bala area, Ghulam Siddique was killed in a hit and run case.

In Gumbat, a collision between a car and a pickup left nine passengers injured who were hospitalised. The police impounded both the vehicles and booked the drivers.

In Babri Banda area, a pickup hit a rickshaw injuring its driver, Mohammad Afzal, and four passengers. The police registered case and started investigation.

Similarly, in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Tanda Dam area, Tanveer sustained injuries and was hospitalised.

FACILITATOR OF PO ARRESTED: Ustarzai police arrested a facilitator of a murder absconder and recovered hand grenades and explosives from a house on Tuesday.

Ustarzai police station SHO, while acting on a tip-off that a proclaimed offender was hiding in Jan Gero area of Sher Kot village, raided a house.

However, the PO Mazhar Ali managed to escape. Later, the police searched the house and took facilitator, Jasmeen, into custody.

The police also seized five hand grenades, five detonators, 20 grams of explosives and a rifle with 40 cartridges from the house.
