Dera Ismail Khan triumph

PESHAWAR: Dera Ismail Khan won the second edition of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Under-23 Inter-district Female Games, beating Tank in all 13 disciplines at the two-day event.

DI Khan rode on Fariha’s hat-trick to win the hockey match 3-2 before Sania’s three wickets saw them win the cricket crown with a thrilling two-run victory.

Their dominance continued in athletics, winning by 44 points to 24 even though Samina of Tank was declared fastest athlete when she won the 100m.

DI Khan’s Foziya won the 200m and her team-mates Samiya, Samrina and Mahreen won shot put, discus and javelin throw respectively. Tank’s Sobia won the long jump.

DI Khan also took the volleyball event 3-1, the netball match 4-3 and the basketball clash 44-42.
