MITHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said the noose is tightening around the necks of plunderers of national wealth and ‘friends of India’, and like every patriotic Pakistani he is hopeful the Supreme Court will do justice in its detailed judgment on the Panamagate case.

Mr Qureshi, who is also spiritual leader of his Ghausia Jamaat, said at gatherings of PTI supporters and his followers at Arbab Ji Dhani village near Chhachhro town and other villages on Thursday that the nation would soon get rid of corrupt and incompetent rulers.

He said the role of attorney general, who was supposed to safeguard the interests of the state in the apex court, was disappointing throughout the proceedings of the case, while heads of anti-graft institutions, such as the National Accountability Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency, were acting like ‘personal servants’ of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif.

He said the country was reeling from the worst wave of terrorism and was in need of a courageous leader like Imran Khan to steer it out of multifaceted crises. All those involved in corruption would soon meet their logical end, he said.

Mr Qureshi said that the PML-N government had always pushed the country towards instability and chaos. But the ‘holiday’ would soon come to an end and “those who have looted the public money will soon be grabbed and grilled”, he said.

He welcomed the launch of a fresh operation by armed forces against terrorists and their facilitators and stressed the need for tightening security on the country’s border with Afghanistan from where ‘Indian-sponsored agents’ infiltrated into Pakistan.

He called for immediate implementation of the National Action Plan across the country and said that flawed foreign policy was also one of the reasons behind the resurgence of terrorism.

Mr Qureshi said Imran Khan had launched the party to get justice for people and the day was not far when every Pakistani would reap the fruits of the tree planted by Mr Khan, he said.

He said that during his visits to different parts of Thar he had witnessed acute lack of basic and fundamental facilities. Both the Sindh and federal governments were responsible for the worst conditions in the area, he said.

“PTI will turn Tharparkar into a modern district after coming to power,” he said, adding that despite unabated deaths of infants most health units in Thar were not functioning.

He criticised the Sindh government for paying no heed towards continuous protest by villagers against the construction of controversial water reservoir at Gorano village and said that mining firms were bound to safeguard interests of locals and give them precedence in jobs and other facilities.

Mr Qureshi vowed to take up the Gorano reservoir issue at all forums, including the National Assembly PTI leaders MNA Lal Malhi, Haleem Adil Shaikh and others asked people to reject the rotten system and put their trust in the PTI to rid them of all problems.
