PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister National Volleyball Championship got underway at the PSB Coaching Centre, Qayyum Sports Complex, here on Monday.

In the opening match, Army defeated Azad Jammu and Kashmir 25-19, 25-15, 25-14.

Wapda defeated Fata 25-12, 25-9, 25-14 in the second match.

In other matches, POF Wah defeated Sindh 25-14, 25-15, 25-17.

Pakistan Board recorded victory against Balochistan 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.

Before start of the championship, players and officials along with large number of spectators observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to late Shahid Kamal, former secretary general of Pakistan Volleyball Federation.
