RAHIM YAR KHAN: Six makeshift houses were destroyed and several cattle killed on Tuesday in a fire at Fatahpur Punjabian bus stop at the National Highway, some 20 kilometres from Rahim Yar Khan, Rescue 1122 spokesperson Adnan Shabbir told reporters.

The fire broke out in the house of sugarcane labourers behind the bus stop when a farmer burnt sugarcane husks. Firefighters saved belongings worth Rs800,000.

Eyewitness Rashid Ali said that a child was stated to be missing.
