KOHAT: Students of Kohat medical college boycotted their classes on Thursday as deadlock persisted between them and the Khyber Medical University over the issue of the college’s affiliation with the health department.
The students said that Kohat medical college was the only such institution in the province which was attached with the Khyber Medical University.
They said that due to that Rs125,000 was charged from them as admission and per semester fee.
They said that in all other colleges the same fee was Rs25,000 only.

Meanwhile, an official of the KDA hospital said that the issue of the college students and staff entering through the main gate of the hospital was resolved after administration of medical college deployed their own guards atthe common gate with the hospital.
TWO KILLED: Two people, including an Afghan refugee, were killed in separate incidents here on Thursday.
Police said that an Afghan mechanic, Jamshed, was checking a car after repair along with his three friends.
They said that when the car reached Bahadar Kot unknown assailants opened indiscriminate firing on it.
As a result, Jamshed died on the spot while the other three escaped unhurt.
Officials of Mohammad Riaz police station later impounded three suspicious cars from the scene and shifted the body to KDA hospital.
They also registered a case against unknown killers on the complaint of an eyewitness, Gul Nawab.
In another case, a young man, Mohammad Saqib, resident of Junglekhel, was gunned down when he was coming to Kohat bazaar.
His brother, Tariq Mehmood, has nominated Saeed Khan and Hayat Khan in the FIR.
The police said that they were investigating both the cases.
